Summary:
The New Business Development Manager is part of the Global Sales department under the New Business Development team and reports directly to the Director of New Business Development. This position is responsible for supporting and driving new business growth by managing customer relationships, identifying new opportunities, coordinating cross-functional activities, and supporting strategic business development initiatives.

The Manager will play a key role in expanding Englewood Lab’s customer base by working closely with prospective and existing clients, internal departments, and external partners. This role requires strong communication, organizational, and project management skills, along with the ability to independently manage opportunities from initial inquiry through project transition.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Support the Director of New Business Development in executing strategic business development initiatives and customer growth opportunities.
  • Manage customer communications, inquiries, follow-ups, and relationship-building activities with prospective and existing clients.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through networking, industry research, referrals, trade shows, and customer outreach.
  • Coordinate and track customer requests, sample submissions, quotations, project timelines, and pending action items.
  • Work cross-functionally with R&D, Marketing, Project Management, Operations, Customer Service, Regulatory, and other internal departments to support customer needs and project progression.
  • Lead internal coordination efforts related to new customer opportunities and ensure timely follow-up and communication.
  • Prepare and present capability presentations, innovation proposals, product recommendations, and customer meeting materials.
  • Support customer visits, presentations, plant tours, and onsite meetings.
  • Manage trade show planning and execution, including booth coordination, lead tracking, customer meetings, and post-show follow-up activities.
  • Monitor and maintain organized records of customer communications, lead pipelines, sample activity, and business development reports.
  • Assist with forecasting potential business opportunities and provide regular updates to management regarding pipeline status and customer activities.
  • Support the transition of awarded projects to Project Management and Operations teams to ensure smooth onboarding and execution.
  • Represent Englewood Lab professionally at customer meetings, networking events, trade shows, and industry events.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members or associates as needed.
  • Stay informed on market trends, customer needs, competitive activity, and industry developments within the beauty and personal care industry.

Qualifications / Skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, ideally in Business, Marketing, Science, or a related field.
  • 3–6 years of experience in business development, sales, account management, customer service, project management, cosmetics, beauty, personal care, OTC products, or contract manufacturing industries preferred.
  • Experience within cosmetics manufacturing, CDMO/CMO, skincare, or beauty industry strongly preferred.
  • Strong customer relationship management and communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and customer requests simultaneously.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Ability to prepare professional presentations and customer-facing materials.
  • Strong understanding of project coordination and customer support processes.
  • Ability to travel for customer meetings, trade shows, and company events as needed.
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, proactive, and results-driven.
  • Interest in beauty, skincare, cosmetics, OTC products, and contract manufacturing preferred.

Compensations & Benefits:
  • Pay Range: $70,000 - $85,000K
This is a full-time position, 5 days per week (M–F), from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM in Totowa, NJ.
