Title: Batching & Preweigh Supervisor
Reports to: Senior Manager, Manufacture
Department: Operations 

Responsibilities: 
  • Oversee Pre-weighers to ensure proper safety and work are performed.
  • Complete and verify pre-weigh documentation as required.
  • Uses scales, computer, and scanners to measure and record raw material transactions.
  • Operate various material handling equipment to move materials to and from pallet racks.
  • Follow instructions on pre weigh sheet/batch records, SOP’s, and departmental procedures.
  • Identify and communicate discrepancies with materials, products or equipment immediately to the manager.
  • Pull all raw materials by FIFO.
  • Verify and document all lot numbers that are being consumed in batch.
  • Maintain a clean and professional personal appearance and working area.
  • Supervise and coordinate batching and pre-weighing personnel on assigned shifts.
  • Review production schedules and plan staffing and material requirements accordingly.
  • Ensure all processes comply with internal SOPs, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and safety standards.
  • Train new employees on equipment operation, material handling, and safety protocols.
  • Monitor employee performance, provide feedback, and assist with performance evaluations.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in batching and pre-weigh areas.
  • Conduct inventory cycle counts on a quarterly basis or as needed to ensure inventory accuracy.
Qualifications:
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to move up to 50 pounds bags or drums.
    • Ability to handle full 55-gallon drums.
  • Education Requirements:
    • High school diploma or GED; associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field helpful.
    • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
    • Knowledge of batching systems, material handling, and weighing procedures.
    • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Language Skills:
    • Ability to read, analyze and interpret common weighing procedures, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals of scales.
    • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, managers, clients & customers.

Compensation & Benefits: 

  • Pay range: $70,000 - $80,000 per year
